Without a doubt, professionals in the health and fitness industry have a passion for helping people. However, very few have the business skills necessary to successfully lead a healthclub or its departments. The IHCNA Certification Center does not provide workshops or learning materials. What it does provide is an impartial, third-party site for documenting knowledge and proficiency at a very low cost. Click on each of the certifications below to learn more about each.

Certified Independent Healthclub General Manager
(CIHGM^TM)

Club Managers and General Managers are often employees promoted to the senior level position because of seniority. The CIHGM documents that he or she has a competency in personnel management, sales, marketing, basic accounting and finance, health and fitness programming, and strategic leadership. Its like a healthclub MBA final exam.

Certified Independent Healthclub Membership Associate (CIHMA^TM)

Many healthclub sales associates are hired without any prior sales experience or knowledge. The CIHMA documents that staff have learned the fundamentals of selling healthclub memberships as well as the details of customer service. Basic marketing and advertising are also covered.

Certified Independent Healthclub Fitness Manager (CIHFM^TM)

Many Fitness Managers are exceptional at working with clients, but few understand the business behind what they do. The CIHFM documents they have a thorough understanding of the financial management of their department.
